Get Energized
Which energy/sport drink would you consider the best for endurance?
I know that these drinks cant replace water but I’m just cuious as to which ones would be almost as good for you, during a workout, as water.
the problem with sports drinks is the amount of sugar in them. to be honest, if you’re lacking energy during a workout then you need to look at your diet and see if you’re getting enough carbs.

Hi: If you are going to do an endurance event i.e. a 5k run or wightlifting for an hour fluids are very important. What you need to do is drink plenty of fluids BEFORE you go out to exercise, train. Start drinking these fluids the night before your activity. And no, sodas and alcohol do not count. How can you tell if you are hydrated? When you pee it should be a clear color not dark yellow. A rule of thumb, drink before you are thirsty.
Water is the best way to replenish lost fluids but I have learned that some sports drinks are also good. I have had good luck drinking gatorade or powerade during exercise. When you see a football, basketball or baseball game on TV what are those guys drinking? When you sweat you lose both magnisium and potassium along with water. Gatorade and powerade has both of these ingredients and is not full of sugar like these other drinks are. Stay away from the reb bull, rock star and these other energy drinks. They contain alot of caffine and sugar which will keep you awake but do nothing to help replenish lost fluids. As time goes on you will learn what works best for you. Remember, water is free and can be found most anywhere. Take care.
