Daylon, you have a number of questions that center around the main question are NRG drinks bad or not good for you? Also, you asked are there health risks, why do I feel tired and what if I need a boost in the morning? So I will try to direct you to some further research about this topic and your situation. My overall recommendations are: 3 meals a day that at balanced (40% by calorie from Carbs -30% from Proteins-30% from natural fats) 40-30-30 comes form Barry Sears’ ENTER THE ZONE book and aka the ZONE diet.www.enterthezonediet.com I do a modified ZONE with mostly plant based proteins. 3 snack meals (fruit or veggies) plenty of water. Stabilize your sleep habits (the same time, 7 days a week) and get the rest you need (8-10 hours). Avoid endocrine disrupters (fat based toxics that mimic human hormones) found in heat treated oils, dairy, some plants and environmental dioxins. Find and avoid preservatives, food colorings, artificial flavorings. My rule is the less processed the food, the better it is for you (processed via heat or chemicals). So you really have to know HOW food is made. Here’s more on my health perspective:www.goldenzah.com

Man, you really don’t know what you are talking about. Caffiene is consumed by 90% of americans. Their has been loads of research that caffiene is good for your brain and body. You would have to take 800mg+ to have bad effects. thats 5 rockstars. Also athletes don’t want oxygen in the blood they want it in the bloodstream. Taurine is also found in copious amounts in breast milk and baby formulas. Moderation is key!

@dschadrac83 4-6 glasses (8 ounce size) of water over 8 hours time is about right. Just try to drink a lot of water, even when you are thirsty and you throat stops swallowing (easily) when you’ve had enough. But true, no one should ever try to drink over 2 quarts in one sitting.

my son was pinning all of opponents at his last wrestling meet. then BAM he drinks a 5 hour energy drink and he loses his last match.. not only did he lose, but he lost by 15 points. he basically gave up. That energy drink didnt just affect him physiologically, but it gave him a massive emotional down turn as well.
THOSE DRINKS ARE PURE EVIL!

wait? So caffeine breaks down bones…hold up! What if I drink 1 cup of Coffee a day, which isn’t much, in the morning and afterwards I could eat 2 pieces of swiss cheese, should that make up for it? Cheese does have calcium.

Thanks for the info. I’ve been curious about the bad health effects ever since my FIRST energy drink. Took it before an exam and 20 minutes later ended up passing out. In no way am I out of shape either. So again thanks. I never had another energy drink after that and I don’t plan on it. Just doesn’t seem all that good to me, it’s sad though that these items are so popular mainly to today’s youth.

I drink one monster a day-ish, sometimes i don’t, but i’ve recently pulled that number down from 3 a day, and tbh i did it with ease, but Monsters are so gorgeous, i’m not stopping with them! but can they cause impotence and infertility? I know about liver, kidney and bowel damage and also weight gain but what about impotence and infertility?
