Spike Shooter energy drink?

I had a Spike Shooter energy drink along with a can of Red Bull before a hockey game and I felt like I was going to die!
My mouth was super watery, my heart was racing, and I had a horrible stomache ache. I can honestly say that I will never have another energy drink in my life again! I prefer water now even over sports drinks. This stuff is garbage!

A Morning Smoothie to Help you Stop Constipation

Chronic constipation can be hard to stop or elimination, since the colon have become weak. In most cases it will have to be retrained on how to have a bowel movement.

For those of you that have mild constipation, here is a morning smoothie that will help activate your colon. This smoothie is packed with nutrients that your body will use to regenerate your colon and body.

I have been making this smoothie for a few years. I make enough to drink right away and to put into my thermos to drink around 10am.

When I make this drink I just start putting things in the blender without measuring. You can do the same and make adjustments as you go.

” one peeled banana

” 4-5 strawberries or other type of berries, or fruits

” one tablespoon of lecithin granules

” one – two teaspoons of flax seed oil

” half and half almond milk and apple juice

” in a coffee grinder, grind up around a teaspoon or less of the following:

” Brown sesame seeds – are high in lecithin, vitamin C, E, and Calcium. They improve liver function and help in constipation

” Sunflower seeds – are high protein, Calcium, and iron. They are one of the best natural foods which feed the entire body.

” Flax seeds – are high in fiber and provide bulk for your stools.

” Almonds – use around 6-7 or more. They are high in Calcium, Phosphorus and have some B-vitamins. Only eat a few. They are high in calories.

After grinding the seeds, place them in the blender and blender everything for about 3-4 minutes. If you need a little sweetness, you can add a small amount of honey. I find this drink plenty sweet without any honey.

Sometimes I will add the powder of a few acidophilus capsules.

If I don’t add the almonds, I just put all the tiny seed into the blender without grinding them up. The blender will break them up.

This is a powerful smoothie to give you morning power and to activate your colon to get moving.

Winning Tactics for Giving Up the Diet

You might disagree, but hear me out on this, if you’re thinking of going on a diet to lose those extra pounds think again. Long-term weight control through dieting is near impossible, for the simple reason is that diets promote only short-term solutions not long term.

After dieting you’ll certainly look lighter on the scales, but in most cases this is because you’ve dumped a few pounds of body fluid and muscle, and not because you’ve lost any significant amounts of body fat.

One of the main reasons diets don’t work is because they send the body into starvation mode – a survival mechanism for times when humans faced periods of famine. Cutting back on our energy intake causes the body to lower its metabolic rate, which reduces its ability to burn fat.

At the same time, hunger signals increase and we quickly start to crave high energy foods loaded with fats and sugars – the exact foods we are trying to do without!

Alarmingly, research has shown that repeated dieting actually makes it harder to lose weight and easier to put it on.

This is because when you dump the diet and return to normal eating habits, the drop in metabolic rate caused by the diet means that your old eating habits actually represent excess in calories.

Research on people who have successfully lost a lot of weight and kept it off long term, shows that the vast majority succeeded by consuming a low fat diet high in fibre coupled with strength training and cardiovascular activity.

These are the basics you’ll need to aim for.

A sound weight loss-eating plan should:

* Be nutritionally sound, providing all the nutrients you need.

* Never promise fast weight losses.

* Offer an eating plan based on real food.

* Allow you to eat out.

* Avoid expensive meal plans, products and supplements.

* Not avoid carbohydrate foods, e.g. bread, rice, pasta, cereals

and potatoes.

* Make gradual dietary changes.

* Provide knowledge.

* Allow you to eat all foods

* Recommend physical activity.

Fat calories are more fattening than carbohydrate calories. Your body can easily convert the fat you eat in food into body fat, so to lose weight you need to cut down on fats and foods that contain it.

Consider the following steps to reduce fat in your diet.

* Use skimmed or skimmed milk in drinks, cooking and on

cereals.

* Buy a non – stick frying pan.

* Buy a cheese slicer

* Cut the visible fat from meat.

* Eat very little pastry.

* Learn how to read a food label.

* Substitute low fat yoghurt for cream.

* Remove the skin from chicken and turkey.

* Eat fruit as snacks rather than eating chocolate and biscuits.

* Eat fewer burgers and sausages.

In conclusion the way to lose body fat and maintain muscle is to have a food program for life and more energy output. Increase the amount of fruits, vegetables, non-fat dairy products, whole grains and beans that you eat.

How to Get Away From Caffeine Addiction

If you are enjoying your morning drink containing caffeine, its time to shift to other alternatives before it is too late. Caffeine addiction begins as a result of following causes.

-In the work place it is a routine habit to serve caffeinated drinks to clients, employees etc. Also some people think that repeated intake may help them to be alert while working.

-At home it is common for people to start their day with a cup of caffeine drink. In addition when relatives drop in unexpectedly we take the drink to give company. Thus we consume more drinks in an effort to please others.

-The children are good observers and imitate elders by consuming the beverage.

The caffeine addiction can be efficiently dealt in regards with its prevention and recovery by following certain steps

1.Sudden withdrawal from caffeinated drinks is usually not advisable for people who are addicted for a considerable length of time. Such individuals should resort to gradual tapering from addiction under the supervision of both physician and psychiatrist. The role of psychiatrist is important because a person who is neck deep into addiction finds it difficult to tolerate the withdrawal symptoms and prefers to go back to addiction.

2.Certain children and persons who are not addicted to an extent of producing serious withdrawal symptom can gradually taper their intake. Simultaneously they should add healthy drinks to their schedule so that addiction can be easily over come.

3.Tyrosine, an amino acid is helpful in reducing the craving for caffeine. It helps to increase the level of neurotransmitter dopamine which is involved in addiction and pleasure.

5.Peer pressure and meetings with friends at cafes is an issue which has to be dealt with lot of cautious. Declining the offer for drinks from colleagues and friends is a sensitive issue. The best way to prevent such embarrassing situation in the initial stage of abstinence from the drinks is by avoiding such meetings. The outings can be resumed later on when you have gained confidence that nothing can divert you from the resolution of ‘no drinking’.

6. Some people cultivate the habit of drinking caffeine thinking that it relieves them of constipation or keeps them away from certain illness. But this is all a myth and has nothing to do with caffeine. Avoiding caffeine by itself may help you in staying away from certain illness.

Reduce Your Risk Of Dying By 30 Percent-Drink Green Tea

I’ll start this article by revealing that I’m not objective about the topic. In fact, I have an conflict of intense interest: I love green tea.

I start just about every day with two pieces of rye toast and pot of green tea, and I usually make myself a second pot around noon. (I eat a late lunch, around 1:30 PM.)

I’ve noticed that it does exactly what studies on green tea and weight control say it does: reduces appetite.

I’ve read dozens of those studies in the last year as I wrote my new book, The Natural Fat-Loss Pharmacy: Drug-Free Remedies To Help You Safely Lose Weight, Shed Fat, Firm Up, And Feel Great (Broadway 2007). The studies I read also show that the main ingredients in green tea can increase calorie-burning by as much as 180 calories a day. Maybe green tea is doing that for me: I weigh 158 pounds-just a few pounds over my weight in high school.

And the gentle level of caffeine in the tea helps power me through the morning without the extreme ups and downs that I tend to experience when I drink (okay: guzzle) coffee.

The most active health-ingredient in green tea is a powerful antioxidant called epigallocatechin gallate, or EGCG.

Each year, there are literally thousands of studies conducted on EGCG, with scientists showing it protects and strengthens just about every cell and system in the body.

It shields brain cells from damage, stopping Alzheimer’s in mice genetically programmed to develop the disease.

In the laboratory, it reverses many different types of cancer, and is being tested in clinical trials at the Mayo Clinic for leukemia and at the University of Arizona for bladder cancer.

It can lower cholesterol, strengthen the immune system and protect the heart.

And now a new study-published in the prestigious Journal of the American Medical Association, in September 2006-shows that people who drink green tea aren’t just healthier. They live longer, too.

The study was conducted by a team of Japanese doctors. They looked closely at health statistics from a 10-year study of 40,530 men and women in Japan, aged 40 to 79. And they found that, as these people aged, those who drank the most green tea had the lowest death rates from any cause, and also the lowest death rates from heart disease. The specifics:

Men who 1 to 2 cups of green tea per day were 7% less likely to die during the years of the study than people who didn’t drink green tea. At a daily intake of 5 cups or more, they were 12% less likely to die.

Women got even more protection from green tea: an 18% lower death rate among those drinking 3 to 4 cups, and a 23% lower death rate among those drinking 5 cups or more.

When scientists looked at heart disease-which kills 1 out of every 2 people, here in America-they found the protection was even stronger. Women who drank 5 or more cups of tea a day had a 31% lower risk of dying from heart disease than women who didn’t drink green tea!

Tea also protected against stroke, in men and women.

Needless to say, I’m not planning to break my green tea habit. Based on this study, it might be a habit you may want to consider for yourself.
